KS2

KS3

In Oakfield we aim to engage, educate and challenge all students.  We wish for all students to achieve beyond their targets, and also be prepared for the next step in their Maths education.

Our Specialist KS3 Maths Team:   Mr Todd Charlesworth, Mr Andrew Stephenson and Miss Charlotte Penny. We also work alongside those KS2 tutors that teach either Year 5 or Year 6 Maths lessons.

In KS2 we see the students for 6 lessons a week, and we follow a two-year programme that incorporates the National Curriculum objectives alongside the necessary skills practice in fluency, reasoning and problem solving. This is done by following the WhiteRose scheme that students are likely to be familiar with already.

In KS3 we see the students for 3 lessons a week.  We have now moved across to the WhiteRose KS3 scheme that reflects the newest KS3 curriculum as well as offering a continuation of the skills of fluency, reasoning and problem solving.

If you look at the menu on this page you will see copies of the overviews that we work from.  We believe that these processes better focus students on making progress as well as hitting individual targets.

If you have any questions about our Maths provision here at Oakfield, or a query about your child’s progress, please don’t hesitate to contact us through the office, or via your child’s tutor or Maths teacher.
