Dementia Care at the Royal United Hospital Bath
One of our parents recently cycled 400km across Asia to support this cause, and she asked if the school would lend their help. Mrs Neilson will be visiting the school on Thursday and Friday to speak to the pupils about her trip, and what the Unit does at the hospital. During Friday each child will have the opportunity to cycle on an electric spinning bike to see which house (ACORNS) can cycle the furthest. Frome Leisure Centre and The Train Station Gym are very kindly letting us borrow some bikes from them for the day, and Frome Town Council Rangers have agreed to collect and return the bikes for us!
All pupils are asked to make a donation if possible, we suggest £1 each – but any donation would be greatly appreciated. Staff will also be participating, and will have the opportunity to notch up miles during break and lunch times.
Pupils do not need to wear their PE kits for this activity, and school will operate as normal. The event will be monitored by our Prefects, Sports Leaders and Sports Captains (who should wear their PE kit to school on the day).
Thank you in advance for your support for this worthwhile event.
