Spelling Bee News- Modern Languages

The aim of the Spelling Bee is for Year 7 students to practise and improve their vocabulary, spellings, pronunciation and memory skills in the target language (French or Spanish). This event is sponsored by the European Commission and Vocab Express. Pictured are our French and Spanish winning contestants. The Modern Languages Department is delighted to announce that, based on their scores, our three Spanish winners have earned their place at the Regional Finals of this year’s Foreign Languages Spelling Bee. The regionals will took place on Monday 24th April at Norton Hill School (in Midsomer Norton)

Melissa Verwey and Jacob Roberts have qualified to attend the Spelling Bee National Final in Cambridge on the 30th June 2017. They reached 2nd and 4th position in the Regional Finals at Norton Hill School. Their peer, Luca Wade, fought a strong battle too!
