We have implemented a student recognition system using biometrics at Oakfield Academy, click on our Biometric system letter for more details.
This is a new, innovative system which enables parents to put money into a Parentpay account (we already use Parentpay for trips and peripatetic music.) This money is then available for your child to pay for their food at break/lunchtime by simply using their fingerprint to pay. Please note, this is the only facility available to enable your child to purchase items from the cafeteria as this is a cashless system.
Breakfast Club: Our Breakfast club now takes place everyday in the DT room (via the schools main entrance) from 8.00 am to 8.30 am. Children can bring their own snack or alternatively toast, squash and cereal will be provided. If you would like your child to attend please obtain a permission slip letter from the main office or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. From 1st November 2016 there will be a charge of £3.00 per week in order to cover supervision costs. This will need to be paid in advance for each half term period.
Food Allergies Change to legislation regarding food allergens in food. If your child has a food allergy you must complete the kitchen-allergies form and return it to our school kitchen.
Break time Snacks: The restaurant also opens from 11.00 am - 11.15 am with a special break time menu, which is also available during lunch time.
Delicious hot & cold lunches: The restaurant opens for lunch time service from 12.15-13.45 pm, catering for each year group in turn. During lunch pupils are able to sit in the hall with pupils who have opted to bring a packed lunch. Every day the restaurant serves a hot or cold meal menu, including a pudding for an inclusive £2.70. There is also a new salad bar where pupils can serve themselves. If you would like to view our current menu please Click here.
If you think you may be able to claim for free school meals, even if you do not require them, please contact the Academy or simply fill in the free school meal application form and return to the Oakfield office; no proof of benefit is required.
