Team (2) Oakfield 3 Millfield 2
Two teams showed great character, and all players that travelled to Millfield should be proud of how they represented the Academy both on and off the pitch. Special mentions go to Lewis W and Jayden W who created many chances. Also to Ben B and Billy B for their brilliant goalkeeping, and finally Ciaran W for his outstanding commitment. Excellent effort boys. Mr Fowler

G&T Science event for KS2. The British Space Agency funded for two helium balloons carrying cameras, weather recording equipment and experiments devised by pupils (from a number of schools including Oakfield) to be launched from Oakfield Academy. Our pupils came up with a number of innovative experiments mainly to find out how items or substances would change when introduced to the earths atmosphere. These experiments included: a lego spaceman, a memory card, a chewy sweet, an elastic band and a clove of garlic! SEA (Systems Engineering & Assessment LTD from Bristol) devised this event as part of their outreach programme. The two balloons were launched from our playing fields. Check out the BBC website which covered the event. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-21899341
