Thursday 20.12.18 Pupils Christmas Lunch

We are pleased to announce that our special Christmas Lunch (which includes a vegetarian option) will be on Thursday 20th December 2018. This will be provided for all pupils by the Academy free of charge. We see this as a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to share a meal at this special time of the year. As per the Oakfield tradition, pupils will be served by Oakfield Staff !

You may provide a packed lunch for your child on the day if you do not wish them to participate. Please note the kitchen will not be providing a menu choice on Christmas Lunch day or any break time snacks.

We are happy for pupils to wear their ‘Christmas jumpers’ on this day, however all other items of uniform should be worn. They can of course wear their school sweatshirt if they prefer. Whilst donations to Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Campaign are not required for children to join in, if you would like to make a donation at, this would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Parent.
We had huge IT problems at the start of this academic year which was a nationwide issue with the company involved and not something we had any control over.  This had an impact on the systems we use such as Parentpay.  Updates were communicated via our website, Facebook information page and e-mails. We would like to thank you for your patience in this matter.
The link to Parentpay has been resolved and you are able to access information regarding purchases made in the canteen.  Please be aware that there was a backlog of information input into the system so it may look like numerous items were purchased on the same day.  This would not be possible as there is a limit to purchases; it refers to when the purchases were entered onto the system.
Some accounts now require funds added to them following the purchases made during September and October in particular, and we are asking parents to do this by the end of January 2019.
If you have any queries regarding Parentpay, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Palfrey in the Finance Office.
Thank you once again for your support and patience.

Parent Workshop Thursday 13.12.18

We invite all parents and carers of Academy pupils to the first in a series of Parents’ Information Sessions.

The topic of the first session will be Online Gaming and will be hosted by Oakfield parent, author and journalist Keith Stuart, who until recently held the position of Gaming Editor for The Guardian newspaper and wrote the bestselling novel ‘A Boy Made of Blocks’.

The session will take place on Thursday 13th December 2018 and will run twice – 2-3pm and 6-7pm.

Venue: Enrichment Centre.  Refreshments will be available.

Are you, like thousands of other parents across the country, concerned about the impact that the time spent playing online games (such as Fortnite) is having on your child’s physical, social and emotional health?

Do you think they are impacting on family life and academic success at school?

This session will seek to address some of the issues and challenge the myths around online multi-player games. There will be a short presentation followed by plenty of time for questions.

If you think you would like to attend either of the two sessions, please contact the Academy Reception to reserve a place.

Phone:            01373 462539

We look forward to seeing you there.
