Leigh on Mendip First School / Oakfield School / Frome Community College

I left Frome Community College after achieving three ‘Bs’ at A level; Media Studies, Product Design and ICT together with two AS levels in Geography and Business Studies. During my gap year I worked as an Outdoor Education Development Coach at Mill on the Brue, as a Teaching Assistant at Rode First School and as a sales consultant at The Family Adventure Store.

I have just graduated with a First in BA (Hons) Media Arts from Plymouth University where I won a regional Royal Television Society award for my film ‘Wars on the Moors’. This formed part of my final year assessment and has now been put forward for the RTS National Awards.

My best memories of Oakfield School are the times spent in the Tech department, which included everything from making robots to cooking some cakes on an industrial level.  The best memory has to be pushing a sack truck through the front corridor with another student in! I think my most inspiring teacher at the school has to be the Tech teacher Miss Law who I think really gave me my independence and the motivation, which made the move to the college much easier.
